mocha

Mocha

Mocha Celis high school, the first oriented to trans and transvestites persons (although not exclusively,) represents more than a conquest for the LGBTIQ+ community on the educational level. Located in Chacarita neighborhood, the school is also a gateway to social equality, to the recognition of trans collective rights that historically were and continue to be denied, and also a place of contention by providing lawyers and psychologists contacts. In this documentary, this time students and teachers are the producers, the protagonists, and the ones in charge of representing themselves, overturning the prejudices and social constructions installed on the trans figure. Based on testimonies and fictional representations, each one of the anecdotes and traumatic experiences they have endured is revived, and the concepts of education, inclusion, and militancy this time come out of their mouths and rumble outwards.

A Shot in the Dark

A Shot in the Dark

Through an intimate portrait of Sonia Soberats, Bruce Hall, and Pete Eckert, three visually impaired artists, A Shot in the Dark pops questions that put into discussion elementary ideas of imagination, perception, and gaze. In a contemporaneity marked by the bombardment of photographic experiences, the eye seems incapable of processing all that the images show, making them opaque. The life and work of these artists exemplify alternative forms to the gaze for visual production, where fantasy, chance, thoughts, and haptic perception carry a creative power that enriches and inspires.

Sembradoras de vida

Sembradoras de vida

Faced with the advance of industrialization in agriculture, the use of pesticides and fertilizers, the genetic manipulation of seeds, and other abuses on the ground, a group of women from the Peruvian Andes are still struggling to maintain an organic way of relating to the environment. In the Andean world view, the earth and the feminine body are intertwined, as both concentrate the power to create life. Based on this millenary inheritance, Sembradoras de vida presents, as a valuable trench, the agricultural work that they carry out, where respect, direct contact with nature and the consideration of external criteria such as the temporal and the climate determine a craft practice that today, more than ever, is read as an act of resistance.
